More Beginner’s Guitar Chords

Part three of my beginner’s guitar guitar chord series builds on the knowledge from part one and part two. We will still be using open chord fingerings and we will still be excluding barre chords from our practice. Major seventh and minor seventh chords are extensions built upon standard major and minor chords. In the case of a major seventh chord, we add the seventh note of the major scale to a standard major chord. In the case of a minor seventh chord, we add the seventh note of the natural minor scale to a standard minor chord. Strangely enough, Dominant seventh chords add the seventh note of the natural minor scale to a standard major chord.
