Blues

At the end of the nineteenth century; deep in the south of a place known as America; there was created a music called the blues. The blues was raw, passionate, emotive, edgy and characterised by specific chord progressions. It used notes outside of the diatonic scale, it was sung by African-Americans, it was the origin of American folk music. The most commonly found blues structure is the 12 bar blues which can be played in a variety of keys. Here are seven examples of the most popular blues chord progression in the known universe – the 12 Bar Blues.
