Classical Guitar Guitar Lessons

There are numerous styles of music in classical repertoire which are usually catalogued by their position in history. Renaissance guitar music was created during the time of a more general European Renaissance in all art forms which includes work by Leonardo Da Vinci and William Shakespeare. Musically the pieces will often include dotted note rhythms and two musical lines or voices; one voice played by the fingers and an accompanying bass-line played by the thumb. As we move into the Baroque period famously purveyed by the works of J.S Bach and Frederic Handel players begin to add ornamentation such as slurs (hammer-ons & pull-offs) and trills (very fast slurs) to enhance the music. Much like a modern day guitar player, the Baroque guitar player was encouraged to use improvisation which could complement the written music that was presented.
